A bit about me and my team
We're based in south-east Queensland and we (physically) service an area roughly comprising of Toowoomba, Warwick, Stanthorpe/the Granite Belt and Tenterfield. We also have a few clients from other areas of Australia that we work with via email, phone and VoIP.
Forgive us for being a bit green
Being a web based business, I made the decision early to not set up a high profile centralised office. Instead, we all work from individual home-based offices scattered throughout the region and use mostly electronic means to stay in touch, though we do see each other face-to-face now and then of course.
This not only reduces our overheads and gives us all a far more flexible lifestyle (we can live and work wherever we like), but it's also our little contribution to the environment as none of us drives to and from work each day.
Bragging rights
Having been in the computer and electronics industries for over 28 years, I have built up a wealth of technical and practical knowledge which I'm constantly adding to. I have a burning passion (some would say an unhealthy obsession) for programming, design, creation and keeping abreast of the latest technology-related trends and techniques, and I've built up a small team of like-minded professionals to help me craft the best possible solutions available for our clients.
I've been designing websites, Intranet systems, and dynamic web applications for around 10 years now and I've seen a lot of changes in both the underlying technology as well as the styles and capabilities of websites. With the recent emergence of Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) I'm really excited about the possibilities of blurring the distinctions between desktop and web-based software, providing all the power and convenience of the Internet with a speed and responsiveness nearing that of a desktop application, and I'm currently engrossed in learning all I can about this technology.
My Team
My team and I are constantly upgrading our skills and industry knowledge to make sure that everything we develop is fully standards compliant, employs the latest techniques, is modern and stylish, and meets all of our client's needs.
I believe in letting people be the best 'whatever it is they are' that they can be and so I encourage my team to just do the bits that interest them the most. For instance, Michelle just wants to be a great graphic artist and has no interest at all in learning web design or anything else technical, whereas Simon is a 'young me' and wants to be able to do everything under the sun, and do it all well.
